Bozovic on cooperation with the Consulate General of Mexico
in New York

The Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in New York, Vladimir Bozovic, had a conversation with his Mexican counterpart, Jorge Islas Lopes, about the cooperation between the two consulates in the upcoming period.
Bozovic spoke to the Consul General of Mexico in New York about his impressions of the Mexican people, stating that he has always admired the pride and dignity of Mexicans. He expressed gratitude for Mexico historically standing by the Serbian people.
Islas Lopes told Bozovic that the Mexican Consulate is considered to be very busy among the consulates in New York, especially considering the large Mexican diaspora living and regularly arriving in the city. He emphasized that the Consulate is mostly occupied with providing assistance to its people regarding the documentation necessary for living in the U.S. Additionally; he mentioned that significant attention is given to educating Mexican citizens about their rights in the U.S. as well as the healthcare.
Islas Lopes told Bozovic that Mexico has the ambition to be among the top economies in the coming years (currently among the ten largest economies in the world) and expects an influx of around 80 billion dollars in foreign investments in the next 4-6 years. Bozovic informed his Mexican colleague that he would be happy to discuss possibilities for business connections between successful individuals from Serbia and Mexico, as well as to explore opportunities for increased investments resulting from stronger and more organized collaboration between the two countries. Bozovic mentioned his close friendship with the current Mexican ambassador in Serbia and his predecessors, adding that he plans to visit Mexico soon.
The meeting was also attended by the Mexican Consul for Political and Public Affairs, Carlos Gerardo Izzo, and the Consul in charge of documentation, Maria Angelica Amador Meza-Calix.
