Consul General Vladimir Bozovic at the grand premiere of the film "In a Different Tone", that took place today at the Ilija Kolarac Endowment in Belgrade
New York April 1st, 2024
As part of the observance of International Autism Awareness Day, a grand premiere of the film "In a Different Tone" took place today at the Ilija Kolarac Endowment in Belgrade. This event was initiated by the Consulate General of Serbia in New York and held under the patronage of the First Lady of the Republic of Serbia, Tamara Vucic. The film, authored by Caren Zucker and John Donvan, stands as a true feat in artistic expression, depicting an authentic narrative that explores the realm of autism through the prism of love, understanding, and empathy.
A significant number of parents with their children on the autism spectrum attended the film screening, adding an extra layer of emotional significance to the occasion. Following the screening, a prolonged gathering provided an opportunity for parents to engage with the dedicated advocate of the cause, the First Lady of the Republic of Serbia, Tamara Vucic.
Her commitment was demonstrated by her participation in a special session during the previous session of the United Nations General Assembly on the topic of "Billions Missing in Healthcare Systems: Children and Persons with Developmental and Disability Challenges," held at the New York Public Library and organized by UNICEF, the World Health Organization, and the non-governmental organization "Autism Speaks." Through collaboration between the Ministry of Health of Serbia and these organizations, Serbia has become part of the pilot project (CST-Caregiver Skill Training).
